With no other way to express herself as a child, Stephanie began drawing—and it came naturally to her. That gift remained unexplored until she came to prison. During COVID, the patience and grace of a lifer helped her develop the ability to create through acrylic paint and watercolor, exploring many different forms of art.

Stephanie participates in the dog rehabilitation program, Pups on Parole. Much of her artwork is based on the dogs she has worked with. These paintings are her way of expressing love, gratitude, and connection—a tribute to the animals who show unconditional loyalty.

Art has given Stephanie a way to turn pain into purpose and darkness into something positive. Each piece reflects hope, healing, and the belief that creativity can transform—even in the hardest places.
